Toko - Nʉmʉ Tekwapʉ̠ (Comanche) meaning "Maternal Grandfather"

The traditional style 4 row choker is comprised primarily of two materials- Buffalo horn (black) and Elk Bone (white) 2 inch hair pipes bookended by round Bone beads and separated by a medium thickness 4 hole spacer. The central focal point is abalone shell, 1/4 inch elk bone, 8mm Onyx beads, and nickel plated feathers, all bound together by artificial sinew and finished with black suede end pieces and tie straps.
Simple and elegant, it earns its name through quiet strength, like a grandfather can be.
Protected by a glass topped blue velvet case, this choker is just as beautiful on display as it is when worn.

If item shows out of stock, this same style will be handmade to order, so don't hesitate to purchase - it might take a little longer to deliver, depending on components in stock. We can also customize your choker to fit your own personality, totem, clan, or power color (or even the colors of your nation's flag). Custom from scratch chokers are also available by emailing wakhanla@engravedadornments.com to discuss your design with Aiʔmiʔa Arʉka (Loping Deer)

If you notice a mistake in your choker, don't worry - it is intentional. This is sometimes called a spirit bead and is an intentional mistake to honor Creator as being the only perfect creator. It echoes the lesson that there is beauty in imperfection, and often times imperfection is the source of a thing's beauty. All of our handmade items contain a Spirit bead or other intentional imperfection.
